Siwa is an Oasis located approximately
800 Km south west Cairo. The ideal time
to visit this great spot is during December
however, you must be fully prepared to
endure chilly weather at night. Yet on
the other hand, it is always nice and
sunny during the daytime. The residents
of this oasis are known as berbers and
have their own unique language and culture.

make sure you go there riding a bicycle or
a donkey cart. Alexander's oracle: You can
visit the ruins of the oracle that was once
visited by Alexander the Great. You can rent
a bicycle (renting a single bicycle costs
lo. L.E) from the market and go check out
the temple. Gebel al-Mawta: (a.k.a. The Mountain
of the Dead) This is where you can find the
ancient tombs of the Egyptian priests with
some hieroglyphics inscribed on them. You
can go there cycling.
'' Bir Wahed'': Bir Wahed is not only one
of the new tourist traps of Siwa, but it is
also a quiet, secluded place, which makes
it an ideal place to spend the late afternoons
and evenings. This is a well that is set out
12 km southwest of Siwa. You need to rent
a 4X4 car to get there. Bir Wahed is the home
of two very popular springs; Ain Sukhna (a
natural hot bath), and the Cold Spring. Fitnas
Island: The Fitnas Island lies about io meters
out into Birket Siwa, and is completely covered
by palm trees, except for the circular, tiled
pool. Definitely a sight worth seeing!
